Bridport and Bishops Lydeard Win Respect Awards

The Toolstation Western League are delighted to announce the winners of the September to December 2020 Respect Awards.

The Premier Division award heads to Dorset where the winners are Bridport and in the First Division the award heads to Bishops Lydeard.

In normal circumstances a presentation would take place before a home fixture, but with games suspended due to the COVID situation the two clubs will receive their awards and vouchers in due course.

The Respect Award started about 5 years ago as part of the FA Respect campaign. It was originally just for the First Division clubs but a change in the refereeing structure meant that the 2020/21 season included the Premier Division clubs.

The referees mark the captain, manager and players in line with FA guidance for Respect for every league game. The best club in each division at the end of 3 months ( in normal times) will win a £100 voucher and a plaque.

At the end of the season there are overall awards for best club, manager and captain.

Congratulations to both clubs.
